windshield wipers

wipers only work in low speed and when I turn them off they stay in position they are in instead of going back down
Could this be a switch problem or motor
I have an 86

I heard the park function of the wipers is built into the wiper motor. I do not know how or what needs to be done to fix that. Maybe someone else knows.

As for the the other speeds not working if im not mistaken its a relay or solder join inside the wiper switch that is bad. Someone use to rebuild them here on the forum. Think it was PELE? but every time i asked i never got an answer back. If you search around you will find the info you need to rebuild the wiper switch yourself.

Common problem with the switch. I bought a good used on from a member here as I had exact same problem. Do a search, should be lots on those switches. Maybe someone is repairing them

I'm in the process of setting up business to repair the wiper switches. There is a relay that cost about $10 that needs to be either resoldered or a new one put in place. This is a relay inside the switch problem.

Its not usually solder joints in the wiper switch. Pitted relay contacts are the usual culprit. Its not a difficult fix.

There is a guy that advertises in the kansas city craigslist section that rebuilds them and has them on hand. Look him up, he's in merriam, ks. Idk if he's a member on here or not but most likely he is
