Question How to remove seat handle?

Hi folks,

I have a question about the tiniest little part of my RX7.
I am installing some new cheap Chinese-sourced leather seat covers for my 91 NA coupe. I've done one, but I was unable to separate the plastic time piece that covers the spring & lever mechanism from the side of the seat, making it quiet unwieldy any annoying.

It looks like the lever is metal, and the end **** is plastic. If the **** could be removed, the trim piece would be free to separate from the seat back.

So ... does anyone know how to do this? I really want to be careful and not break *another* plastic piece in this car, so I don't want to try forcing it to figure out how it comes of, it it can at all.

Also, the figure on Page S11 of the FSM seems to show that there is another plastic trim piece, #1 , 'lever', that I certainly don't have on my car. I guess that was some sort of a seat option?

Thanks!

Ah, sweet, you're right. As usual, it's just a matter of confidence and knowing what the right way to do it is. Thanks!
