window goes down, but not up

If my power window will go down but not up, is it my switch or the motor?

Does the motor do anything when you move the switch?

If you can't hear the motor move, then take the switch out and clean the contacts on it with sand paper, or scratch them with a small screw driver to expose bare metal. If after that you just hear the motor spin but the window doesn't go up, then you need a new regulator like I do.

Taking out the switch is easy btw, you just pry it out with a flat head screw driver. Be careful not to break the black plastic on the switch though.

Definitely clean the contacts, I have to do it about every 6 months or so. Shouldn't take more than an hour, easy fix.

Mine used to do that. It would stumble on its way down and stop on the way up halfway making me go down a little and them back up. I just took off the door panel and hit the 3 rails with WD40. Works fine now.

I cant hear the motor at all when I try to make the window go up. I took off the door panel and rails look pretty dirty. My windows used to go up very slowly, then yesterday I smelt something burning when I rolled it up. I think the motor is toast, but if it is why would it still go down fine? The switch looks fine, no burn marks or anything and it looks very clean.

i bet its ur switch same thing happens to mine, try taking a couple jumper wires to the conectors but criss cross them so that the pos on the chassis harness conects to the neg on the window switch and neg on the chassis harness conects with the pos on the window switch and then push the switch to put the window down, if it goes up then its ur switch and u need to replace it!! or do like me and keep a couple wires with conectors on the ends handy and switch the polarity everytime u want to put the window back up HAHAHAHAHA

yeah im a cheap ***, no i dont care!!!!!!
