Window Channel Removal

I want to replace the window channels on both doors of my S5 coupe, but before I remove the door panels I'd appreciate it someone can tell me how the channels are fastened to the door/window opening and the best way to remove them. TIA

I'm listening in on this as well. Gonna have to figure out how to take off the panels first though lol. Good luck with your repair.

Thanks. In looking at the channel further, I noticed that the rubber just pulls out of the door pocket if you squeeze the two edges of it and pull slightly. But I'm interested primarily in replacing the plastic outer piece that is trim around the window opening. Not sure that comes with a replacement channel.

I'm referring to the plastic piece that surrounds the top and sides of the window opening, within which the window channel is located. Not the straight piece along the bottom of the window opening. Thanks anyway.

To close out this thread, I managed to remove the plastic trim pieces. After removing the mirror, it just pulled off. They were held in place by a bit of goop. So I repainted it and slapped it back on. Looks better than it did and I didn't spend $150 plus for new replacements.
