well, it does drop right in but then you have a problem with the wiring harness connecting to the right sensors and other misc problems (like omp). What you wanna do is put the s5 motor in short block form and then put all the s4 accessories (including intake and front cover) on it, then you can keep the harness from the s4.
There's something about this in the FAQ at the top of the 2nd gen forum. It's for turbo but the bottom line is pretty much the same. It's not a plug and play thing.
I think hypntyz7 has probably done it a few times, so you may want to search for his posts.
