I was just about to purchase a very good condition (or so I thought) 1990 GXL. But what I had it checked out they put it up on the lift and found frame and floor rust. It was bad enough for them to tell me that it was too dangerous to drive. I just wanted to see how common this was. Oh, I live in the Boston area. I hate snow.

its not that uncommon if the car has been driven in a lot of snow and salt. rust will build up really fast.

 

I have seen some great cars in the north. Just have to be very carful. Kudo's to you for spending the time and money to protect yourself!
