Will this work?

If I take my 87 TII, with an intake and exhaust, and put a BOV on it(stock turbo), will I get a loud sound from it still? Also if I get an air/fuel controller, and a boost controller, will that work with stock fuel pump/injectors, or will I have to get one or both of them upgraded?

BOV is for turbo reliability. you won't need to accomodate. you do need a bigger than stock fuel pump for your setup though.

Sure you will. The new BOV will be up in higher, not buried in the engine bay, as opposed to the stock one integrated to the turbo. Also no doubt Mazda engineered it to keep sound levels down.

Re: needing a bigger fuel pump... Depends if he's just monitoring boost, or turning it up. You may want to be weary of boost creep with the intake and exhaust done, as well if you want to crank up the PSI, you need a fuel cut defender (not that expensive). If you are upping boost, you need more fuel to stave off detonation via a lean condition. Be safe, planning and patience now will cost you a rebuild and damaged pride later

I want to up the boost, while still keeping it at a reasonable level. I have a 3" single exhaust right now, and am getting a cone filter intake. I am also thinking about getting a Walbro fuel pump, and a boost controller. What else do I need to keep the air/fuel at a safe level?

An air fuel ratio gauge would be a good safeguard.

I've got an na '89, so turbo is far from my area of knowledge. Go looking into the single turbo section in the forum, I'm sure there's a few people who know what they're talking about.

Also, go to www.mazdatrix.com, www.racingbeat.com, www.rx7.com etc. Look in their turbo section, and they've got loads of invaluable info. on how to go about modifying the stock settings safely and effectively. You'll get a good idea about what you'll need.

Sounds like you're putting together a nice reliable set-up. Good to see someone planning and using their head instead of jumping in and fixing problems later. Good luck.
