Question will this trick work on fuel system?

hi, to the make the long story short.

if we assume the fuel system is clogged somewhere by no seeing fuel come out from fuel line when trying to crank it, CAN we apply some pressured air into the fuel system from fuel line where it goes into engine? so, hopefully, it will push out whatever that was clogged?

the car was running before it was parked from a while. compression was good, new spark plug. and the car was jump started. the new spark plugs didn't look wet, and then we unpluged the fuel line that goes into engine, and then crank it again. no seeing much fuel come out. but fuel pump can't be failed after parking for a while, right? then it must be clogged in somewhere.

thanks

Unlikely that its clogged that bad....

make sure you are checking the line comming out of the filter....

Change the filter, it probably needs it anyway, then, turn the key on from off but do not start the car, ust turn the key to the on position.... you should hear the fuel pump prime the system for about a second.. have a buddy poke his beak under the rear of the car and listen if necessary.. if you don't hear a whirrr after tunring the key to on.. it aint working.

also... while you are trying to crank it.. you might not see fuel becuase the FP may not be running while the car is cranking..

if the pump is working, take the line that comes off the filter of the metal spider, put it in a container and then turn the key from off to on to see if fuel spits out of it.

You can blow air from back to front, with the lines off. you'll have to take the carpet up in the rear, take the port hole out of the trunk and take the lines off the top of the tank and at the spider on the engine.. you don't want to be blowing air through the FP while its in the tank OR through the injection system.

Jump the fuel pump with the connector on the right tower and turn the key on. You should hear/see fuel flowing.

The ENGINE FUSE supplies power to the fuel pump. I'd check and make sure the ENGINE FUSE is good before I did any of the above. It's called the ENGINE FUSE, ENGINE FUSE, ENGINE FUSE.....
