Will not idle

My car will not idle. When I start up the car it will run fine at 3000 rpms and above. But when I take my foot of the gas the car will just die. I can keep the car running about 1000 rmps but it is hard to keep it going. The only code that is the computer is giving is that the water temp sensor has a bad wire.

I replaced all of them. Then sprayed starter fluid around this did not get any reaction from the engine.

I unpluged the TPS and this did not change the way the engine is running. Could the TPS be bad?

check your tps with a multimeter. Warm it up and make sure your TPS reads out 1k ohm. also check your BAC, and your ACV make sure they are tight, if use a codechecker to find out what is wrong

you have access to a scanner. BASTARD.... well if your wire is bad and your watet temp gauge and the circuit is open your engine is going to believe that your engine temps are very low ...therefore it will increase the fuel to the motor.. this may be causing the motor to mis due to excessive fuel. If you still have the scanner read what the voltage is reading for the temp sensor. I dont know if the ecu will actually go into a default and substitute the sensor with different values. But if you can use the scanner you can might be able to see the pulse widths for the injectors. Alright dont know if that will help but you have a scanner so i think your in safe arms...
