will my dsm turbo work?

i have an L3R turbo that i bought from www.agpturbo.com and i've been trying to sell it (but i get nothing but stupid people trying to give me nothing for it, etc.) so instead i was wondering if it would work for an fc. it's a brand new twin ball bearing turbo that supports up to 630 horsepower. here's pics of it for those who haven't seen it yet....

http://www.andrewwarren.com/images/l3r

it looks to me like a GT35/40 kit. just that the exhaust housing is different. i'm wondering if it would be possible to just swap out the exhaust housing. and wondering about the oil and water lines. are fc turbo's watercooled as well? i'd save some mod money by keeping my turbo if i can just use it for a turbo II. if anyone thinks it's possible, you think i could use a stock turbo II exhaust housing? or would i need to somehow get the exhaust housing that comes on the GT35/40 kit? hmmm.....wonder what i'd have to do to get one of those housings. anyway, any advice appreciated cause i need to hurry and figure out if i need to sell this before i go to school in jan. or keep it for use on a turbo II.

You can set any turbo upto any car. You just need to find or make manifolds + piping to do so.

okay, well i'm sure i could. but i also wouldn't wanna spend another fortune just to get it to work. heck i've already spent like $1700 just on the turbo itself. but anyone think a GT35/40 exhaust housing would fit this thing if i had to take off the housing i have on there now? anyone know where i could maybe get one? i wouldn't mind just changing the housing out. but i don't want my $1700 turbo to get all hacked up....and then knowing my luck, it won't work or something.

I wouldn't waste your time. try to sell it. matching a turbo to an engine is very hard. you can't just bolt up any turbo and think it'll work.

well the compressor housing looks the same. just don't know about the center cartridge and the exhaust housing. is it's water cooled, i can get fittings to solve that problem fairly easy. what i DON'T want is a problem with getting an exhaust housing to fit. take the time and look at the pics if you haven't already and look at what i'm talking about. the turbo's look pretty similiar from what i can tell......

You will definatly need a MUCH larger exhaust housing. Want an example? Standard DSM 20G runs a 7cm - 8cm exhaust housing. THe Greddy kit for the TII employs a 17cm exhaust housing. The turbo is a GT ballbearing turbo with a modified mitsu housing on it, I do not know if they modifed the cartridge or the exhaust housing, but if the exhaust housing is stock and you could sorce a 18+CM Greddy mitsu exhaust housing (from say a T78) you might get it to work, and it would even bolt onto a standard aftermarket mani for the FC most likley.

Thats not to say it will be matched to the motor very good and work well, but hey, you could make it work possibly.
