Will Jspec T2 engine bolt up to an 89-91 T2?

Ok. Just wondering if I were to order a Jspec engine for an 89-91 T2, would I need to do anything or would it just go right in? Ive heard motor mounts are different from some people, other people say they arent, etc, etc.....Just whats the real deal?

Thanks

You would need to remove the old wiring harness from the J-Spec motor since they are cut at the firewall usually. Then you need to run your wiring harness through the upper manifolds and you are good to go. If you have to pass emissions, then you might want to use your manifolds for smog purposes. The mounts are the same. This I know for fact.

If you have an 87TII then you have to swap some parts off your old 87 block. And this are:
front cover so you can use your mechanical OMP
injectors and rails
lower,upper, and TB
hmmm
maybe your water pump housing (not sure on this one)

That's all i can think of now.

The J-spec Cosmo engine has different mounts, but I think that the RX-7 J-spec mounts are the same. I think that engine mounts are going to be the least of your troubles with this swap.

Cool

it will bolt right in to your stock tranny... you will have a problem with everything else, intake manifold, vacuum routing, solenoids, etc. but then again if it's strictly for race, you wouldn't need any of that except for your intake manifold... that's my spec...

see ya,
