I just passed two weeks ago with flying colors. Check my sig for what I was running with when I smogged it. My car still smelled going from no cats and straight pipes to my current setup. If everything else is running well you shouldnt have a problem if you have a new cat. Make sure you get the cat nice and hot before testing.

if anyone in southern cali is interested , id be happy to let it go for $1000 bucks obo, car runs perfect and i jus changed a couple of things to help it run healthy, the only thing that bugs me is the exterior, its been primered down with grey primer, but other than that its a really great car to go to school and work with.
