Will I need an SAFC?

I'm currently building 3 inch exhaust for my S5 T2. I've got 720cc injectors coming, and an Rtek 1.7 upgrade. Will it be necessary/recommended to use an SAFC?

So you're saying the Rtek will be enough?

i think he's saying instead of so many little add on/piggy back controllers, you should just make the jump to a standalone. :P

I dunno about that man, I don't think you can get a sprint RE for $700 +/- $50 unless you get a used one even then it will be pretty expensive still because of how new of a product it is. I thought they retailed for $900 new but that just a number I remember seeing somewhere, I could be wrong.

To OP, you won't NEED it, but it wouldn't be a bad investment to get the hang of tuning down/as in intro. If you do, you will need a wideband.

Jimmy, got a wideband already

If having an SAFC is optional at the moment, I'll hold off. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to run into any immediate problems without having one. And an Rtek 1.7 and used SAFC will cost me probably around 300-400 dollars, which is much more affordable than a standalone unit. If in the future, I decide to go crazy with this car, then the cost of a standalone becomes more justifiable. Just looking to have some fun

Just upgrade to the Rtek 2.1 if you want more control. The price will be similar to adding an SAFC, and you'll have other benefits like start up fuel control (no more flooding!), timing control and data logging. It does most of what a standalone can, but it's also very easy to use since you start with all the stock maps.
