Will I have enought backpressure?

First off I own an 86 N/A I did a rats nest removal meaning I removed the air pump and ACV and plated it off. I am nearly done with my rebuild all I need to do is put my exhaust on. I was going to get a racing beat set up but have opted to go cheaper for the moment to get me by for now. So I am going to use the stock manifold and the proper cat with the split airpipe hook up.
With out the air pump on the car will there be enough backpressure up the pipe to open the ports. The way I understood it the airpump sent air threw the LIM and down the pipe to cool the cat. If this don't work with out the pump I am gonna have to put it back on and do a mod that I seen in the archives.

Removing the air pump will ruin your converters.

The air pump has nothing to do with the aux. port actuators, other than the fact that they share the split air pipe. Air pump air is only traveling to the cat below 3500 RPM, and the aux. ports do not open until 3800 RPM. The backpressure created by the exhaust gasses is what activates the actuators.

Thanks that is exactly what I needed to know. I knew that backpressure was what opened them but was a bit confused because about the air traveling down the pipe. I knew they opened because of backpressure at 3800 but did not know about before 3500.

So in other words if I do what I am planning I should be fine.
