Will HKS Wastegate actuator work on S4?

I am looking for alternatives to replace my wastegate actuator. It is stuck and Mazda Comp says they do not sell that part by itself.

Will an HKS or Greddy universal internal wastegate actuator work?
Is there a way to clean the stock one?
Mine still holds air, but it doesnt move until it gets 15 psi.
Then it only moves 1/4 inch.

Travelintrevor,
Sent you an email.
Not sure if it got through.

You really are a nice guy.
Have you tested it with a bike pump?
I can arrange shipping today.

ANY arm type actuator CAN work... you just have to know how to MAKE it work!!! Basically its a diaphragm with a restrictor spring that only allows the wastegate to open after a certain point of boost pressure is reached. Its the monting position and arm movement that are important

I had to move my wastegate actuator to the 9 oclock position and clock the compressor cover to the 11 oclock position when i got my BNR cause the garret center section bryan used was a bit diferent than the stock hitachi and the oil return line wouldn't clear the actuator... then, i had to weld on a new bracket and weld up a crooked actuator arm because the actuator was now WAY off line with the wastegate flapper arm. It looks kinda like an abortion, but it works perfectly.

so to answer your original question, if the HKS or greddy have internal spring rates near 7 psi (or whatever you want the wastegate to open at), they will work, you may have to fab up a different bracket or do some work to the actuator arm, or take it to a shop and have it done.

If you want it to bolt right up, (arm the right lenght, mounting position, etc) then you need to find a good stock actuator
