will this getto rigg hold
my thermostat cover (plastic pipe on top the water pump, that goes to the upper rad hose) cracked on my way home today, the crack is about 1 inch long, with no phone and no way to get help i improvised, all i had on me was some epoxy glue mixed it up, put it on there and waited an hour for it to dry. got home, looks like its holding ok for now. ? is will it hold for a couple of weeks? i was just going to find another one on the fourm, but the epoxy dripped down on to both bolts that hold it on
, so now it looks like i will need a hole water pump housing
and i am extremly low on cash

Lots of people use epoxy to plug the hole on the one style thermostat cover to use in the different style setup(including myself with two different engines). I bet the epoxy holds for a while in your situation. Be very aware of the engine temp and the coolant level.
I don't know what it looks like, but it doesn't sound like you need a whole new housing along with the cover. If you're throwing out the thermostat housing you might as well epoxy the living **** out of the whole area.

well to top it off, my clutch pedal fell off on the way home from work
, looks like i will be real busy tomorrow morning, pulling the pedal assem. out and fixing it, the bolt i had in there was a galvenized (sp) bolt, what kind of metal bolt should i use so this won't happen agian? also, does anyone know away to change the bolts with out pulling the pedal assembly? i looked at it with a flash just now, but it looks like the only way is to pull the hole thing out

btw, the epoxy is holding well, no coolant leaks yet

Hmmm...Could be. It also depends on the epoxy you use. There is alot of heat in that area. I have used aircraft-grade epoxy with some succsess, but thats only a temp fix.
well i found some steel maker **** in our shed and put that on there, went go drive the **** out of it, so far its holding.......... yes this is all a temp fix i will be buying a new one asap

Hey man, i got tons of S4 ****. Including water pumps and water pump housings. Name a price. Also, i think the right epoxy would work good for a crack, could you get some pics up?
no pics all i can say about the location is that its 1 - 1 1/2 inches long 1/2 inch up from wher it bolts to the water pump housing, the crack is going straight up (and grew a little since i've discovered it)

The best stuff for cooling system repairs = Bondo Marine Epoxy Stick.
I found it at Wal Mart.
I have made repairs to my radiator tank and the water pump housing with that stuff.
It's also good for reinforcing interior plastic parts.
