No.

Well anything will fit if you have a cutting wheel and welder, but it's far from a bolt on.

If you search this was covered in detail last week.

from what I understand any tranny for a rotary engine will bolt to any other rotary engine, the bolt pattern should be the same.

the reason it is not a direct swap is because you need to find/make the proper length driveshaft to match yer rear end and also get a clutch that will work for your combination.

possible? like said above....anything is possible. worth it? prolly not.

good luck, have fun

the tail shaft on a 2 nd gen tranny is longer so if you put in a 1st gen tranny it wont line up in your stock shifter position thus not working. and you would need a longer drive shaft

If your looking into this for the gearing, there should be a thread in the archives about swapping miata gears into the fc tranny housing.

You can put on an FC tail housing, or swap the whole thing into an FC box. That's what I've got in my car. The gears are shorter (all but 4th), the Miata gears are closer together, but 1st and maybe 2nd are taller. The Miata input shaft needs to be machined, the 1st gen doesn't.
