Ok ive got a 1986 series 4 turbo, 13bt engine. Ive got standard airbox engine etc but have removed air con air pump and put an elec fan in. Ive also rewired the fuel pump. I want to put a 3" exhaust on. To moderate boost i was going to get a fcd, autometer boost guage and a boost controller. I thought that i can then set the boost to a moderate level without having to get a diff computer or fuel comp. Is it a beta idea to jus rip the turbo out and port the wastegate or would a boost controller be alrite. And also wat do u reccomend i run boost wise 8psi-9psi??? Also i was goin to remove all emmisions and port the tb is it worthwhile doin??? ne help appreciated

I would not go past 8PSI on the stock fuel system, but then I am careful. At the very least, rewire the fuel pump (instructions at http://www.1300cc.com). If you plan on more boost, look at getting some larger secondaries (680cc units are easy to find) and something to control them such as an S-AFC. (All this info can be located using the search).
For wastegate porting (a necessity) there is info at http://www.fc3s-pro.com (or was it .org?).
