Ok i have a chance to buy a 89 GTU. It turns but will not turn over. What could cause this problem. Could it be the carbon build up? Would the ATF trick work here? He said that he went to go and start it one day and it would not start. There is a new battery theres a new fuel filter, injectors, spark plugs.

Don't just jump to that conclusion. Check the pbvious.
Check for:
1. AFM connector
2. Jump the yellow connector on passenger tower to see if the fuel pump runs.
3. check engine fuse in the kick panel
4. check 80A fuse in engine bay
When you click ignition to "on" position, the tach should jump a little. If not you have a blown fuse somewhere.
