will an 89 engine fit an 88 convert

I need a straight answer. Will an engine from an 89 vert, fit into my 88 vert. I realize the throttle body, intake, etc are differnet but I can use these parts from my 88 engine, right? I think the engines are the same external, just more power on the 89(internal), correct? All advise welcomed.

Yes it will physically fit.

Will the harness correctly hook up to everyone on the 89? No. Search to get the answer to things that need to be changed/modified/etc.

"dDuB", I'm not using any of the wiring components from the 89 car, only the motor minus the intake , etc. As long as I use all the wiring and compnebts from my old 88 engine, I'm fine, right? I did not thin there were any type of modifications other than using the upper parts from my old egine like the intake, throttle body and all vacum systems.
Any feed back, fine.

No. There are things on the s5 (89-91) engine that will not work with your s4 (86-88) harness and ECU.
