Will a 89-91 filter fit an 88?

I have a 1988 N/A and I was just wondering If a 89-91 intake filter will fit on an 88. If it will fit Im thinking of getting a Blitz or an Apexi, and I am also curious If I will have do any major modifications? Any information would be appreciated! THANKS!

No, I believe with the S5 you don't even need an AFM adaptor. You can attach a regular cone-style filter directly onto the AFM. For example, you can't use the APEXi one on a S4.

You can fit some of the same filters. Have you ever put an intake on an rx7? On a series 4 it takes an adaptor so there is something to put the end of the filter onto and clamp down. With the adaptor, you can put the filter on the adaptor on a S4. On a S5 you can put the filter directly on the AFM. Only one I know won't work is the Apexi.

I've never put an intake on an RX-7, but I did help my friend put an intake on his Civic. Im sure its totally diffirent from the looks of my car and his under the hood. So as long as I get the adapter, i can use any filter, except the Apexi?

Does anyone know exactly why the Apexi one will not fit or work on a s4?

Ive been trying to find out myself. I have some idea but nothing that was critical or couldnt be fixed with a matching adapter plate.

Intakes for civics are very different than the ones on our cars. The intakes for ours only replace the airbox, while theirs replaces everything in front of the throttle body.
