will an 88-91 front bumper fit properly onto an 87? Does it require any cutting sanding etc. ? Thanks in advance.

First, 87 and 88 bumpers are the same. Second, yes the 89-91 will fit on a s4 (86.5-88) however the moldings will be slightly different.

Both of those look like s4 front ends.. Am I missing something? I thought only s4's had that funky grill. I mean, that's the same grill on my AE. I just thought that was s4.. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

How are the moldings different? Because they are painted?

No. Their Is a lip that lines the bottom of the moulding on the s5. Wheras the s4 has the center part of the moulding Indented.

the s4 and s5 look similar but any rx7 enthusiast would tell them apart from far away. the s5's got a bigger air duct and a "lip" right at the bottom to give it a more sleek look.

it will mount up just right....if the moldings bug you i say just get to the whole set and buy a rear s5 bumper too.. or you can just buy left and right fender molding to distinguish the look. its cheaper and works.

Also, If you don't get the S5 Mouldings, the connecting points of the S5 Bumpers and original Mouldings will not create a smooth transition.
