Will 1989-1991 Convertible tail lights fit on a 86-88 coupe?

Yes, I've read the FAQ and the page that's linked about the conversion

http://www.aaroncake.net/RX-7/taillights.htm

It does state that "Note: If your car is a convertible, be sure to get the lights from another convertible. The convertible lights are not interchangeable with coupe lights."

Does that go BOTH ways? I just bought some S5 tails from a convertible to put on my 86 coupe, including the license plate bracket.

Should I be ok?

they should fit with some modification as long as you have the center section. ive seen coupe tails on a vert but not the other way around. you are welcome to come over tomorrow and test fit my vert lights on your coupe. i have the day off.

the empty key hole might look goofy, they are generally more expensive then coupe lights so why not just find coupe lights

well I went from vert lights to coupe lights on my vert, I had to trim some metal to get them to fit.
The benefit for me was I wanted something different, and I wanted no more keyhole.

Im sure Beez will do the right thing, vert lights are getting harder to come by and should sell pretty easily

Yeah I am undoing the deal. I have a pair of cracked coupe ones for cheaper if you want them.

yeah, they fit.
you will have to drill 2 holes for the center section as the vert has different mounting locations

Beez, actually I'm looking for a really nice set without cracks, so if you could just do a Paypal refund that'd be great. Sorry for the hassle - I will pay better attention next time.
