Question wierd white stuff on filler neck

i took off the top rad hose.and on the aluminum neck thats comes out ofthe engine, the part that has the cap on it.there was this hard white-ish stuff around the outside of it where it connects with the rad tube.i used a wire wheel and a drill to get it off,and it came off pretty easy.but when i was using the drill, the dust from the stuff i was drilling off stunk hella bad, like it was a chemical or something. can someone identify this stuff? maybe flush that wasnt rinsed out all the way?,i need help

its the aluminum disolving. Make sure you are using a good coolant with a 50/50 mix of water to coolant.

I had that problem with mine, you have to sand it perfectly smooth or it will probably leak. I cleaned up my top hose connection but not the lower, and guess what? The lower one leaks, now I have to drain the system just so I can take five minutes to clean that little bugger.
