Wierd Problem

ok so i just had some basic stuff done to my Na 89 vert.. plugs, wires, cone filter, oil change, and for some odd reason every once in a while when im really light on the throttle my check engine light comes on and the car feels like someone took my fuel line and tied it in a knot. at that point if im light on the throttle it will accelerate. if i press the pedal to far it dogs down like all of the fuel is gone...but if i "key off" and then "key on" while im driving the check engine light goes away and it drives normal again......until it does it again . im not sure if its electrical or if the ecu is crapping out on me. i had an mx6 with a clogged fuel filter and it kinda did the same thing. but it never through a check engine light though.. if anyone has ideas i could really use some help

VA could be a few things...

could be a limp mode issue...

could be a sensor issue...

to rules out anything temperature related, see if the car runs smoothly before op temp...

can't say much more than this, without more details...

MOP is probably starting to fail and putting the car into limp mode

VA if it is the omp...

rtek stage 2 allows you to turn it off, as well as tune...

i have one and i love that fact. my omp still works, but it's nice knowing i have a backup, even if i have to premix...

i just found today that one of my spark plug wires have a tear in the sheilding. its in the end cap were it plugs into the coil pack. found it cause i poked it while the car was running and i zapped myself. any chance this could throw a limp home issue

Yeah, a mis-fire could probably through a limp mode code, but I have not personally heard of it doing that.
