Question wierd hesitation @ 4lbs of boost untill over 5k rpm

i have a 89 tII with 2,700 miles on a rebuilt motor. removed all emissions, med street port, 750cc sec, SAFC- II, intake, exhaust, s4 turbo w/ ported wastgate, boosting 11psi, FCD, throttle body mod, tuned TPS and some of the "rats nest" has been removed.

the thing is that after geting my motor broken in more i found out the turbo that was on it was blown "wasnt boosting" so i replaced the turbo with a s4 and now when i give it more then 1/4 throttle when under 5k rpm it sputters/hesitates and spits flames as soon as it hits 4lbs of boost. i had it hooked up to a wideband and they said i was running way lean, but i would smell fuel after the hesitation makeing me think it was runing rich. ther are no fuel leaks.

i hear that it could be that im running way rich and that my car simply isnt able to burn the mix so i leaned it out with the safc2 and it would still hesitate below 5k rpm as soon as it would hit the 4lb of boost mark. but after it smooths out over 5k rpm it boost right up to 11psi and runs just fine. but then when i shift it will hesitate alittle and then clear right back up.

ive gone over everything that i can think of and im totaly out of ideas. and yes i searched.

how's your twinscroll? removed? hooked up? if so, what controlls it?

if nothing helps, try going back to stock setup (stock injectors, stock ECU - no S-AFC, stock boost)

Sounds like your problem is with that SAFC and your tuning.. Making ANY changes to your SAFC settings without using a wideband to verify your changes is just an engine change waiting to happen.

You can smell raw fuel when it happens.... secondaries are kicking in a flooding it to the point it runs lean.
