Wierd Coolant problem

So late 2006 I looked at an RX-7 that my best friend owned, it was a sweet 88. It didnt run and to help him out I got it running for him, THe AC pump was locked in place and i cleaned the injectors and did a buncha minor work like that. It fires up and ran like crap for the first day since it hadent run in 3 years. Well, after ti ran for a while the rear coolent hose on the driver side blew, then he tried to fix it and made it to tight, thus blowing it again, so I fixed it this time and then I filled the resavour little over full since the entire coolent system had been empty. I let it runf or about 5 minutes andthe buzzer was still on and the reasvour hadent gone down at ALL. So, I poured some into the cap that goes into the top of the engine and some into the radiator. Ran it for like 2 minutes since I had to go but the buzzer was indeed still on, is there a way to prime the line so the pump can pull the coolant or something?

I just bought this 7 and I cannot wait to let her shine out on the road.
