Wierd boost problem 87 TII
About 4 weeks ago I built my own FCD and tested it. I used it with no problems what so ever until this morning. I am not sure if the problem was caused by the FCD or something else.
Here are the symptoms:
Factory Boost gauge all a sudden stopped working.
Car still boosts fine and has power.
Slight hesitation at low RPM (1000-3000) under heavy throttle only. (Under heavy boost Low RPM)
Car runs fine otherwise, problem is almost non-existent on 3000rpm and above.
Here are my guesses:
Boost sensor stopped working.
I can unplug the connector from the boost sensor and it does the same exact thing.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks

Go to section 4B of the fsm online free at http://www.fc3s.org and go to page 4B77. There is a checkout of the pressure sensor.
Or how about taking the fcd out of the car and see what happens?
Or put a digital meter on pin 2B of the ECU and with the key to on, see if your getting 3.5 to 4.5 volts.
The lack of any action from the boost gauge indicates the ECU also does not know that the car is boosting, which is not good. Effects the timing maps if nothing else.

Update:
Took the FCD out. Left Boost sensor plug like oem. Reset computer.
Boost gauge works fine now, car does not cut out at any rpm. (Strange because there is no FCD attached).
Lets see how long this lasts.
