Nice custom creation.

Mariah's kit not only looks like a bad dream from the 80's, it fits horribly as well. It took many hours of additional labor for a competent body shop to put on a set of "bolt on" Mariah front fenders.

I don't understand why you guys knock on Mariah kits. How is it a bad dream from the 80's? That makes no sense! Unless, it's a bad dream in your world.

I too know the car Rx-Ben is speakig of, its local.
the Mariah fenders were a huge disappointment to our buddy, and a bigger problem once the bodyshop saw what they had to deal with... poorly made fiberglass panels and a lack of keeping the seams tight (meeting the door, etc) too mention some of the issues.
I was going to go the Mariah fender route until I saw them first hand and decided it was not worth the expense and hassle to run them. hopefully there are not many problems with them but Mariah was less than helpful with my buddy.
Carl, your car should be one hell of a track demon, I want to see some pics of it in action! on another note, what diff are you using? how much were those 16" wheels and tires?

Hi Guys, I should be ready to start real track testing in late february. My job makes it impossible for me to work on the car the first three weeks of january. Right now I have torn apart the fuel system. I am installing a 22 gallon cell, Surge tank, new lines, rails pumps etc. I've seen WAY too many track RX7s die from lack of fuel. I am also reconsidering my whole saftey system. I am moving my Kirkey seat to the passenger side, and will be installing a seat with a full halo, such as the new Ultrashield Pro seat(NASCAR style Halo with 3" padding all the way around the halo. Also far more rib protection, and 6 point harnesses, instead of 5 point. In addition, I have the fire system, and gusseting of the cage to complete. So, it looks good, but I have consistently under-estimated the total work required to build this thing. When it's all said, and done, I then have to start teting Aero, and Suspension. I know the suspension is close, I have Advanced design Double adjustables, and all the trick AWR pieces.
As for wheels, and tires, the wheels are Real Racing(~300.00, 16x12), and take off slicks from a 935 Porsche team(65.00 a corner). I will spring for new tires when I get close to having the suspension dialed in. I may also try some 15x12s, but tires are harder to source for those. SO, action shots are ~3 months away. On a side note, I'll be AX'ing my 97 Supra at JGTC, anyone else? Regards, and happy holidays, Carl.

Hey Carl, I have the same bumper as you (we PM'd a while back about the body kit). Are you making your own front splitter as the replacement for the current one?
Love the car, mine will look almost identical when finished (no wide body kit as of yet), oh, and different wheels (the pic's are temporary until wide body) as it'll be more of a show and track vs. race-only. Here's a pic with the Acura maroon so we're not exactly alike
