I guess the page is not meant for you, since your logic is not consistent with mine.
You are the only person I can remember who consistently claims "fuel cut kills engines" (there may be others but I can’t remember them). What I can remember is many people (including me) stating that they've repeatedly hit fuel cut and suffered no engine damage. I'm certainly not recommending anyone does that, but I’m not scaremongering about certain engine failure either.*
I makes absolutely no sense to claim that Mazda would attempt to protect the engine from one potentially destruction situation (overboost) by using a method that supposedly causes another, especially when most other manufacturers do exactly the same thing.
just out of curiousity, how many people on this forum have lost their motors due to the ignition cut????? im not taking sides here and i respect the fact that most of the knowledge I know has come from REted and NZ. and ive browsed a considerable amount of threads but i havent come across one that directed there blown motor towards the stock fuel cut. -alex

Perhaps the word "cut" is confusing people. The fuel is not cut mid-way through an engine cycle or anything silly like that. If at the start of the cycle the ECU detects that boost has exeeded a certain point, it simply doesn't open the injectors for that cycle. It keeps the the injectors off until boost falls, and then at the begining of the next cycle they're fired again.
