Wich EGI fuse???

I want to depressurize my fuel system before I store my 86 GXL. But I don't know wich fuse to remove!!! There are to of them under the hood: the EGI Comp fuse and the EGI Inj fuse. Which one do I have to remove while the car is running?

And by the way, I tought it was the Engine Fuse that is inside the car that needed to be removed???

Thanks
Alex

Neither. One would keep the injectors from getting 12vdc, and the other would keep power from the ECU pin 3I, which in turn keeps the injectors from opening.

Pull the fuel pump connector while the engine is running. In fact, pull it while the engine is reving high and keep your foot to the floor til the engine dies. Zero pressure that way.

the egi fuses only control the spark, not the injectors. pull up the carpet up in the back of ur car and find the fuel pump wire, it will go off to the left, the wire should be blue, it will go up under a schord and u will find the harness conector, un plug it and then crank ur engine over, it will fire for a second or two then quite. then plug ur pump back in.

No. The EGI INJ feeds 12vdc to the injectors. The EGI COMP feeds the computer on pin 3I. The ECU pulses a ground to the injectors. If you pull both fuses you kill both items. Free online fsm available.

Ok thanks guys.
So I'll look for the fuel pump connector. I wonder if there's a picture in the fsm??? I'll take a look.

It's located under the carpet on the aft side of the left rear strut tower. Hidden. Hard to access. I'd be easier to just slowly bleed the pressure off into a rag.
