And this is why you use Anti Freeze!!!!

I did a rebuild 4 months ago + -. Got a call today, the temps have been in the 20's at night. Owner never put antifreeze in the block and now ever freeze plug blew.

PLEASE use antifreeze!!!

dang do u think the motor is still good at all, if u put more plugs in??, i thought hte plugs were designed to pop before the ice expands enough to damage the motor.. prolly doesnt work though....

disappointing

Dand, I wanted to see ice breaking out of the waterpump and sides of motor, that would've have been a great "use antifreeze picture"

housings cracked with ice coming out (I may end up photoshopping it I want to see it so badly)

if the freeze plugs perform like they are supposed to (and they usually do)..the motor should still be usuable...(as long as you replace the popped out freeze plugs and de-thaw the motor)...and yes, thats exactly what freeze plugs are for......

Ouch, sucks to be that owner

One of our 20b guys here in MN destroyed his motor because he didn't drain the block after using water for leak down testing.

Hestored it for the winter and found a horrifying site in the summer.

Poor guy.

Yeah, one of the center plates exploded. This was last winter before he got it running though.

I can't wait to see that thing running properly next season. He's done some supurb work on it.

At least those of us in temperate climates don't have to worry too much about our cooling systems during normal summer driving. :P

Damn that sucks.... Just a hint for future reference, on the manual of the camera, it should say the min distance between the camera and the object that the camera can focus...

lol ya sry mark ive learned my lesson of never letting anyone else drive my car no matter who they say they are. and yes ppl the car we're all talking about is mine and it would of had a full coolant flush and antifreeze added befor the tempetures started droping below freezeing but some one drove the crap out of my car and made it so it wouldnt run, so ther was no way i could get the anti freeze into the block. and go figure i found out what was causeing my car not to run the same day the spyder and i wher takeing a look over things and heard fluid pooring out the back of the motor...
