Why would u have to remove your air pump/acv when using headers ?

I want to get a rb collected header and on the site it says u need to take out the air pump and acv. I want to get the header and use an rpm switch in conjunction with the airpump and 3 way valve/soleniod to open my 5/6 ports. Then i can just use a straight pipe instead of their presilencer, or just get a presilencer elsewhere instead of paying $200 for the rb beat one

well you could remove the ACV and air pump on a S4 since they are no longer being used.

But you could just leave them on with no ill effect.

What do you have in place of you main cat right now? If you get something like the Racing Beat pre-silencer stuck in there it will give you enough back pressuer to correctly open the aux. ports and S5 peeps even get enough to pop the VDI open.

I'm switching back to backpressure once mine is bolted up because it keeps that much more junk out of the engine bay.

1) You dont HAVE to take the airpump off.. you can do exactly what you planned to open the six ports... OR.. you can get really tricky and rig up a compressed air bottle with a 6 psi regulator through the rpm switch and solenoid to operate the 6 ports... OR you could replace the actuators with steppermotors or solenoids if you are good at fabrication.......

Backpressure may or may not work depending on your mufflers... if you have N1 style straight through mufflers with the header.. forget it.

2) Have you ever ridden in an N/A with a header, a straight pipe and performance mufflers??? it will rattle your fillings... THe presilencer helps, but I'm telling ya, good mufflers are very important!!!!!
