ok your telling me that when a car lets a flame out when it shifts isnt cool? Odd that ive seen many lemans races where the cars let out a flames when they downshift. So your sayin those cars dont =power? im not trying to be rude. Yes i am gettin sick of flame threads. Ive used the search and found out exactly what i needed 99.9 percent of the time.

I've used the search several times, and they've always said the same thing...open bov, walbro, no emissions, no cats....Guess, what? I've done all those mods and I've yet to see a flame. The RB turboback exhaust has no cats for those of you slow to catch on.

I was hopping someone could look at the video and help me figure this out, in the time it takes for you to all say "THIS HAS ALREADY BEEN POSTED 5 TIMES IN THE LAST HOUR, DO A ******* SREACH YOU RETARD!!11!!one!!" you could have just anwsered the question, or just not posted anything.

Anyway, I'm just trying to mess around with my car a little bit, not looking for attention. If you think I'm a ricer, then go ahead, think whatever you want.

I'll make sure to make a mental note to never ask a question on this forum again.

He's rigth.. if your TPS is working correctly and your ECU stops injecting fuel on lcosed throttle like it should your gonna have a hard time getting flames outta the exhaust.., if however you are still injcting fuel into your exhaust i guess i could also be becuase your exhaust piping just can't hold high EGT's to ignite the **** depending on how hot it is.. i run really pig right but i can't shoot flames no matter what unless my exhaust pipes are really hot and even then i get blue flames not longer then 1.5' (please see Avatar) and that's an N/A with straight duals..

P.S. i'm not saying shooting flames is what i wanna do (unless you count the pic which was actually done on purpose since everyone always said i shot flames and i never actually saw them myself) the car just down it when i drive hard for a while and let off or shift at high RPM's

I've heard pulling the anti-afterburn valve helps too, but the cats are definatly a large factor. I gutted mine because they were all clogged up, and now get little "puffs" occasioanly, but not any actual flames. I think those will go away once I fix my leaking injectors too.

shooting flames are mainly based on a poorly tuned car. A properally tuned RX-7 will shoot the occasional flame. You should be very happy that you cannot shoot anything out of your exhaust.

It's a simple combo, the exhaust isn't really designed for it, and you're dumping too much gas where the exhaust just isn't warm enough. What you'll need to do is go on a very spirited run, or a long cruise, then as you're driving do a quick couple of revs to the rev limiter, and it should shoot them. If you can't manage it after that, then give up all hope.

Yes. It serves a function. Tailgater eliminators is what I like to call them.

Heh, I just wanted to try it revving at a stop. I don't think I can adjust my TPS, because the S5 TPSs are self-adjusting(right?)

And the anti-afterburn valve is in the ACV, which is in the garbage.

Maybe after I get my LT-8 in I'll try richining the hell out of it just see what happens heh.

the problem is, you think running rich is the key to flames. It's not. You need an ample ammount of air to fuel, coupled with the exhaust heat and the no ports on a rotary to push the flame all the way back. Just hopping on an standalone and running full duty cycle isn't going to do much for you (this point was proven pretty well at rotorfest)

cool=power=lemans and the flames are a side effect.

when you flame just because it is "cool" that is rice.

Hating rice cuz it's trendy and you want to fit in = rice.

Just STFU will all of this god damn rice bullshit and either answer the question, or start your own damn thread of why you think shooting flames is 'rice'.

lemans cars run a really hot long duration cam, so they misfire at low rpms causing back fires and flames. I could try using a different cam, but....wait a minute, where do they put the cams on my car? lol

I think the anti-lag system in rally-cars and such can have the same effect too. Trying to emulate these things to make people think your car is faster could be considered rice...but I'm just trying mess around with my car for my own(..and maybe my friend's) amusment for the 3rd time...

Yeah no ****. I figured flames were mandatory on 7's with open exhaust. I just ran straight 2.5" on my N/A and if I downshift at 8k rpm I will see a flash in my side view. Don't flame him just because you don't know the answer. I had a straight pipe but with stock cat back and I didn't get any flame.

not flaming, just saying that he should be glad he's not shooting flames and melting bumper. S5 bumpers are pretty damn valuable these days.

I've had flames rolling out of my pipes for 30 seconds straight without damaging my bumper. That excuse doesn't work. Especially for the quick rev/pop/fire/smoke flames that they typically shoot.
