Why put a fd intake on a fc?

there have been debates but no power gains proven. its mostley if your going front mount. maybe for looks, maybe for the elbow, i think it looks better than just a regular FC UIM

the debate between the manifolds is from the intake runners being more straight and longer, which gives a larger velocity
the reason i am doing this though, is to mount on an FD/20B TB...which , if you have ever seen those TB side to side with a FC TB, the FD/20B is about 2x the size..
that has a LOT more air flow...

i dont have pics...i didnt do it YET...waiting on piping for my FMIC...i can take pics of the manifold..
for pics you can always look at an FD engine..i mean, it looks the same

Seondary throttle plates are the same size (50mm?), but the primary throttle plate is larger on the FD (45mm versus 50mm?).
I find this mod a royal pain in the ***, and I haven't seen proof it makes more power.
In theory, the shorter FC runners are better for top end power, but the longer FD runners are better for low end power.

There would have to be before numbers and after numbers with no difference in tunning... would be the only way to resolve this issue... if someone is willing to donate a FD UIM with TB and TPS free of charge.. I would be glad to do this for the FC comunity

I agree... but there is a basic problem with this.
Really to do a reasonable comparison, you have to port match the FD upper to the FC lower, since no-one would really run it un matched... but then you've essentially ported teh FD upper, so the only way to be fair is to port the FC parts as well.
You would need two entirely different setups, an FC/FC ported setup with an FD/FC ported setup and it would be a (fairly) major deal to swap out both the UIM and LIM... that doesn't even count the fact that the TB inlet would be different between the two.
I totally agree that a true comparison needs to be done... but when you really consider the logistics of what it takens to make a reasonable comparison, it's quite involved.
FWIW, I intend to do this... just don't have the money right now.
