Why not more pop off valves being used?

I know with the ser4 turbos boost creep is a problem. I also understand that the turbo will still overspin with a pop off valve when creeping. But wouldnt it still be a good safety measure. I am gonna do a compressor upgrade on a ser4 turbo with a turbine port and WG port, and I thought a pop off valve would be a good idea. Also maybe a boost guage both before and after the pop off to see just how much the turbo is actually pushing, not just whats getting to the manifold. Any thoughts?

Ya, the turbo could be making 25 psi, but the intake will only see whatever you set the popoff @. Say 10 psi. The downside to this is, you could be pushing your turbo harder than it needs to be pushed, shortening the life of your turbo. But your correct as far as saving the engine. So, you can have a 600 dollar thing die instead of a 3K thing die. Good choice .
