What about a solution like the WiseSports hatch. I believe its fiberglass, and it removes almost all of the glass, opting for just a flat-backing of lexan similar to the rear window of something like a Del Sol... It makes the rear kind of like a trunk...

Anyone know what I'm talking about? I'll try to find pics to post.

some of you guys are fawking RIDICULOUS thinking anyone who would buy a CF or FB rear hatch frame would even THINK about putting the stock glass in it instead of using lexan.

I mean COME ON!

WTF is going on here?

sheeeeeeesh.

oh yeah, Lexan front windshield is great combined with a lexan hatch glass... do both and see an 80 pound drop from the chassis at almost its highest point, very good for cornering.

It's freaking ugly... Way to make an FC look like a Fiero...

Ok, it comes down to this... FC owners are too cheap to pay for one.

wouldnt you think that if you were that worried about the weight of the glass for like at track day or somthing you could just take the whole hatch out? i know it might make the car less rigid but thats why we have roll cages. correct me if thats an asinine idea. o and to the guy that said the hatches on our cars arent that heavy, i have 2 of them sitting in my garage right now and they're heavy as ****.

Well, you mentioned the ridgidity factor...

But if you're hell bent on making the rear end that much easier to lose control of, why not just run with pooched tires and only race in the rain?

Seriously, I track my N/A *fairly* regularly, its about the driving and the fun. Paying to drive my car around a track and getting used to a now out-of-whack weight distribution, majorly excessive wind noise and perhaps comprimised structure all for losing 50lbs makes no sense....if you're THAT **** about weight at a fun track day - drive with unde a 1/2 tank and keep topping up as you go.
