i think!!!

fc owners have more of a brotherhood. i sold my fc to soul so i could by my fd. my fd is just as bad as soul's fc but no body seems to care. but i dont care as long as it doesnt have pistons it's ok in my book!!!

C'mon, don't get your panties in a bunch. I have an FC and an FD. It is very easy to see why FD owners might look down on FC owners. Reliability issues aside, the FD is superior in just about every way and much more thrilling to drive and look at. Once i sat behind the wheel of my FD it was hard to go back. Truly, FD owners have major bragging rights.

HOWEVER, my FD has been a costly headache even though nothing catastrophic has happened to it, yet !!! So, from the other point of view, my FC holds a place near and dear to my heart because it is still pretty quick, fun to drive and virtually bulletproof. I can't seem to kill it. It loves to be driven hard. It is also built much better with more quality parts. So, FC owners have bragging rights as well.

Or, if you are an idiot like me who has both, well you can just brag all day... and be poor.

That's not an excuse to look down on, or disrespect anybody. To look down on somebody because they have an "inferior" car in terms of performance is childish and stupid.

WHAT THE ****?

What the **** 3rd gen owners? Were all in the same boat, give us some respect-this is a rx7 forum, not a FD forum. I dont look down on my younger siblings because Im from a different generation, You guys should be thankful of us, theyre are a shitload more FC's out there than FD's-we keep the rx7's rep up just as much as you guys do.

I agree with "SuperGoat", an Rx-7 is an Rx-7 no matter what year. All ahve near prefect weight distrubution and a rotary engine. Every gen is special in it's own way and all can be very fast if you know what you are doing.

Same here!!

heres my .02....

i think its on an individual basis that some of the FD owners act the way they do, ie..they act the same way no matter what they were driving....(they were born a__holes). I know quite a few FD guys some from this forum....and what i have noticed is that the guys who are real rotor heads are the ones who are very cool, reason being they have had a FB & FC. Basically it comes down to ignorance.....not being educated on what they have and where it came from.

I think the problem with FD owners is they get sick of 1st and 2nd gen owners thinking we are all rich guys we think we are all high and mighty and couldn't change their own flat tire. In reality there are just as many 1st and 2nd gen owners who couldn't tell the difference between a rotary engine and a 7.4L Powerstroke diesel. Do you guys really wantl me to believe that every time you see a guy in any pre-93 rx7 that person is going to wave at you and be willing to chat with you about the car? What a load of BS.

Oh yeah, if you want the rx7 meets to be more than FD meets then I suggest you find some owners of previous generations who are enthusiastic enough about their rides to actually show up.

Don't buy a damn car because you want to be buddy buddy with all the other people who own them. Join a damn fraternity or club. If you join a local rx-7 club, the FD owners will treat you just fine if you don't drive a total pice of **** (whether its a pos fc or fd).

If I'm in my vette, I try to wave to fellow vette driver, but I don't wave to some pos ragged out vette. If I'm in my TII Convertible I wave to fellow Rex drivers, but I wouldn't dream of waving to some loser in a pos fc that I would think most people could easily buy with about a weeks pay.

Its almost like when my friends bring up discrimination. I don't believe that I'm racist at all, but I do see a big rift in socio-economic and intellectual status. I just can't stand stupid and trashy people, and I don't care what kind of car they drive.

**** stinks no matter what kind of motor is barely running in it... Enough said...

It seems the saem way here in Atlanta. When our group meets, 6 will be FD's, 2 FCs, 2 SA's. I thought when we first started 4 years ago, more 1st and 2nd gens would show up, and I hope we can get more to show up. There's just a huge base of 1st and 2nd gens that compared to 3rd gens. Not all are enthusiats, but if across eevry generation, 2% are wanting to meet up with similar cars, then that 2% of the 1st and 2nd gens mean more people than the 2% of the 14000 FD owners. I get excited about all the rotaries especially when the other owner is excited and wants to tell you about his car. Seeing the passion they have for their car makes me appreciate mine even more. Right now my dream car is the 85 GSL-SE, since I sold my 80 model wen I got married. It would look great next to the 89 TII, 91 base, and 93 touring. I've been driving to the local meets in the FD, but I would drive the TII and get some input on it, but with no A/C and the heat in the Atlanta area, I'm going to wait til it cools off a bit. But it makes 230 rwhp and is a blast to drive. The 80 model always made me feel like I was driving a go-kart in some ways, which always brought to mind the fun times I had in my go-kart when I was growing up, nothing but great feelings driving the 1st gen. Did it rival or compare to the other FC's and FD's I had, nope not even close except in the fun to freakin' drive category.

Its the same way with a lot of stuff. I know a couple people that ive never met but tried to im and they ignore because theyre known better and have a 400+ FC. And im a FC DRIVER! So what. I really dont understand threads like this. There is always someone gonna look down on your car. Just like there is always someone who is faster. Life isnt fair, everyone has to deal with it. Im not saying any of this to start a flame war or anything, im simply stating my thoughts. Plus, you shouldnt care if someone likes you because of your car rather than look down on you and if you bought your car to fit in than you have issues. They will like you for you, not because you have the same car as they do. Ok, ill shut up. My .02 cents have been added. Have a nice day everyone and be happy with yourself.

i just can"t stand when a 3rd gen pulls up in a parking lot... and it's a 16 yr old kid... and he thinks he's better than me in every way, then I know there is no way in hell he bought that car. I have no problems with other 3rd gen owners... they're all normally pretty cool to me when i tell them i have a 2nd gen, they normally say, "I had one but then i wrapped it around a tree and got this"

this isn't anything to do with cars

this is just the old vs. new thing

you come into something like this and your average joe is interested in whatever is newest when they become interested, they generally stick with that

15 years ago it would have been rx3 owners feeling pissed apon by 1st gen rx7 owners etc.

just look at music, peopel generally fix on the music when they were between 15-25 and stick with it for life

my grandmother liked classical, my father jazz etc.

ive met a few 3rd gen owners, they are always just as excited to see my 2nd gen as i am to see their 3rd gen. ive gotten lots of comments on how clean my fc is and they ask me how i like it and how its running. of course when it comes time to put the pedal down its in a different league but for the most part an rx7 is an rx7 at heart. they always laugh when i ask em how many engines theyve been through but its all in good fun.
