Why did my clutch pedal stick to the ground?

I just got my n/a fc today and when I got off the freeway the pedal stuck to the ground. We pushed it into a near by parking lot where we inspected the slave cyl. It was full. I went inside and pulled the pedal back up with my hand. Any idea what could be wrong?

The master cylinder could be bad or the plunger could be worn and provding no pressure. Even with no leaks.

check the lines for leaks and its either your master or slave cylinder. try bleeding the lines then try it again. to see if it is any of the things i mentioned.

Clutch pedal to the floor means the seals in eith the master cylinder or slave cylinder have failed.

If the slave cylinder is leaking fluid then it needs to be replaced. It's it's not leaking then the master cylinder needs to be replaced.

yo clutch master clyinder is gone. I had this problem wheni left my car parked for awhile and it started to leak. if u clutch is still on the floor. Try to put some brake fluid in the placewhere you the clutch fluid and leave ur car started for like 20 min. After 10 min start pumping the clutch.like with your hand It should build pressure and come up. U need to check the fluid of the clutch evrytime time before you start the car. All this depend on how bad the leak or the damage is

It came back up right after it happend. I just went driving around for half an hour. I don't think its leaking but it has been sitting. I just thought that there is air in the lines because the brakes are kinda spongy also.

The clutch is completely separated from the brake system.. That used to happen to my car but only when I ragged on it alot, if not it wouldnt happen..

yeah i had a 91 supra that did the same thing, no leaks, and replaced the slave, and bled it. I push in the clutch and once and a while, the clutch stays on the floor. i just lift up on it with my foot. just replace the master.

Dont drive the car until this is fixed, because if you loose all pressure, and the clutch goes back in with the pedal stuck down, you can really **** up your tranny(happened to me). Its a 2 hour project, just go to Nopi.com and order the Clutch Master and Slave cylinders(they're cheap there, and the same ones you get from mazdatrix, but for much less) then go to Mazdatrix and buy the braided SS clutch line. Order it all, put it on, bleed and go. it was about $80.

This happened to me because of air in the line. Usually when it would stick i could pull it back up and it'd work until it stuck again. Eventually i added more fluid and bleed the line out. Now it works no problems. It didn't leak, and doesn't appear to either, just air in the line from sitting too long i guess.

Mine has done it non stop for 2 years now. No leaks, just when you hold it to the floor, you help it pop back up. It gets aggrevating driving in traffic, I need to fix it I guess.

If you're not losing fluid, it's the seals inside the clutch master cyl, fluid is going around the piston instead of being compressed. Fix = new master cyl. Make sure to use a flare nut wrench on the fittings! You will F them up if you use a normal wrench.

both really easy to get to. the master cylinder is on the firewall right on the opposide of the clutch. and the slave is on the transmission on top.
