Why are all my warning lights on at 14v?????
This is annoying.
I know all the warning lights come on at an undervolt, or a dangerous overvolt situation.
Well, I had an overvolt for the last few weeks- it was always kept down by driving with the lights, defrost and blower on, so the voltage was always at about 14, no more.
Well, I just noticed that all the lights are on very dimly even at 13.5-14v!! The only time they are off completely is at 12v or below (eg: idle with everything on..)
What would be causing all the lights to come on at a perfectly normal voltage?????
And no, I'm not out of coolant, oil, fuel, brake fluid, not have my seat belt on, have an overheating exhaust system and an engine code!

check the voltage of those 2 little wires comming out the top and make sure they are at 14 as well. one should be. that is what tells the CPU to light em up.

I think it ivery well may be the CPU cold solder joints. I havn't a single problem yet- mine being a 90 and all, but my alarm light stays suddenly stays on all the time now, even though the alarm works fine... also CPU controlled.

It wouldn't be belts..
If they were slipping he wouldn't be getting 14v..
You sure your voltage gauge reads correctly? Test the battery with a DMM.
For the record, there is a signal wire that the alternator has to tell the ECU it's status. (When tested with a DMM, it does NOT read 14v. Closer to 11 or so.) It has another wire that sends signal voltage (12-14v) to the voltage regulator in the alternator, which in turn (while spinning) provides an adequate charge to the battery..
Possibly the voltage signal to the alternator is fine and intact (giving your battery a good charge) but the Alt "Status" wire (For lack of a better name) has a malfunction.
But could be as aforementioned an ECU problem.. (which is more than likely..)

I see you live in Windsor. Should (for some reason) your alternator be garbage, I have one I can sell to you that's been polished, pulley painted, and has all new internals..
However it's an S4 Alt.. you using that stock S5 Motor, or what?
Considering you are Canadian:

Alt. just bit the dust an hour ago..... This will be my second alternator and third battery in this car in 3 years. Pretty messed up. Entire charging and electrical system is fine/redone.

maybe your audio system is stressing these crappy alternators too much. perhaps it's time for an FD upgrade. i saw my idiot lights come on for a second approaching 8K rpm on the dyno, i was like hope mine isn't on it's way out
