Who's got fast TII's (1/4 mile)

I'm not asking for timeslips here

Who's got a fast TII, what do you have done to it?

Who's in the 11's?

Anyone in the 10's with a street driven car?

Anyone in the 11's on stock ports?

What are you using for suspension? Tires?

What drivetrain parts have you broken and what should get upgraded first?

Lets get a thread started so that people looking to build up the car for the first time can save both time and money by buying the right parts the first time.

I'm shooting for 11's this year - low 12's at least - but we'll see- I've got a TD07-25 turbo, greddy VSPL FMIC, 3" exhaust, FD intake manifolds, aftermarket EMS, etc. All this on a stockport S5TII mazda reman - unless I can find a ported jspec.
planning on doing some weight reduction but nothing crazy - it's going to stay my daily driver.

It looks like I'll be swapping front suspensions every time I go drag racing because on the weekends I'm not at the strip I'll be autocrossing or doing a track day.

I've hit 11/12's with a TII driveline, clutchnet clutch, solid diff mount, and some 245's on the rear (can't remember the brand), had a greddy fmic, 3" exhaust, microtech, fuel, etc. This was with a ton of weight reduction though on a high compression running a bnr hybrid, pretty much stock suspension otherwise.

My GTUs should be in the 10s I hope, it has a GT42R on the side right now (probably will change to a 35R since I don't need such a large *** slow turbo), again a microtech & greddy, some nitto 275's on the back, AGX/ground control for the springs, with a S5 N/a block with a bridgeport.

I've cut 1.5's and run a lot of low 11's with an entirely stock T2 rear axle and stock suspension. Then again I don't have a rotary.. but it shows how strong the stock rear axle is. I even have a stock differential mount.

I believe Carx7 ran a 12.1 on stock sized T1-S's, btw.
Edit, 12.4 on 255 T1-S's. Just found out he sold the car

Ive got a 12.3 on my stock port. 1.8 60 foot on Yoko ES-100s. Mod sheet is pretty long, I have a haltech, and all the goodies!

My hybrid died, so now I have a T-61. Cant wait to see what that does.

Did you have to pin your motor since it is an s4, I always heard that they failed over 400Rwhp. ?

Most important thing is to stiffen your suspension!!!!!! once you make some TQ 400+
I ran 11.7 with stock suspension
car did not squat that much
but still was bouncy on shifts

re did my setup
increased the boost
and Now the car is crazy!!!!
Squats like a ****, even in the second gear shift...... starts to rock back and forth when the front comes down from shifts.....have to let off the gas to straighten the car out

http://media.putfile.com/MOV02741 vs 10.6 1/4 mile chevy
Letting off and then trying to accelerate again to no avail
ET Street Tires
60' foot = 1.48

Old setup with old paint Job
on Drag Radials

http://media.putfile.com/old-setup

Do not dump the clutch
say 6K RPM or higher on DR's
I did a real good 2nd gear burn out
rev'd the engine to 6K dumped the clutch...car squated and snap! broke the outer shaft on the axle...

With the ET streets I dumped the clutch numerous times
and had no problems
They wringle and spin a bit but go foward

The Drag Radials and too hard and do not absorb the "shock"

Another probelm I had
was with the standard HKS WG
I had a 10 PSI spring
and with the heat and abuse the spring got soft
and I was not making power.

I took a break from the car
and she has been sitting for like almost 6 months now

But I got lots of stuff done
now.

replaced the wastegate with a 50MM version
with a 20 PSI spring

got a full KYB AGX and Ground control suspension setup
(full stiff setting upfront...# 6 out back
added a solid diff mount and chained the diff to the subframe
car is as low she can go, but the ET streets still can tuck under the fenders

added a 8 point chromoly Cage

Let me just say
she is Quick as F#@! now

feels Much faster then when I ran 11.7
did some test runs tonight on a deserted street on C16 fuel

I'm planning on taking her to the track this coming week
but last time cost me $100 to tow her home
cause of the broken axle
so I won't be dumping the clutch, just slipping it off the line
Still should pull some 1.6 60's I hope

I'm wanting to run low 11's to high 10's
well see what happens

wish me luck...lol

update

came back from the track

eh
best run
did the slipping clutch mathod= 1.62 60'
1/8 7.24
1/8th MPH = 99.82
and dammit! could not get 4rth gear to go in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and coasted pass the 1/4 at 99.68 MPH
11.59 1/4

the car next to me ran 11.3@120
and I was passing him on the top of 3rd
tried shifting into 4rth and could not.....

would of been a nice low 11 high 10 pass
for sure

Next pass..heres the bad news
the wastegate line came off and I overboosted
broke something in the motor
12 vac reading compared to 16 before
still holds a idle
drove it home 20 Miles

seems just be a warped RA seal (they warp more then they just break)
rebuilds cost me less then $500 so no biggie
should be back running in a week or so

time to add braided hose's with fittings to the wastgate

overboost fuel cut in the ECU would be good too maybe

sounds like what happened to me - idle VAC changed but ran fine otherwise, still holds idle too - the compression numbers told the real story though. I don't have the motor out yet but should shortly.

what was the issue with 4th? clutch issue perhaps?

Ya, I believe with a proper(good proper I mean) tune pinning isn't 100% necessary, but I mean, if you're boosting like 30psi on a stock S4 motor that might be a problem. The old rule of thumb was like over 15psi, but that sounds kinda..meh.

My car has hit 11s with slicks, race gas, and a great driver (previous owner). I believe a 11.5 @ 122.

With my panzy *** driving on pump gas and DRs, I've ran an 12.5@109. Also pulled a 12.6 @ 114 with street tires an 2 more psi than the 12.5.
