The Mazdatrix short shifter isn't that bad. It's about $190, but it comes with all new bushings.

short shifter? if your just want a shorter shifter, your shifter is two pieces connect by rubber/glu stuff.. if you pull the top piece off with a pair of vice grips (turning and pulling reeal hard) you could put a shifter **** on the top of it (those screw in ones) thats what i did... dunno if thats what your looking for?

That is not what he is looking for. He is looking for a shifter that will actually shorten the throws not a shifter that is physically shortened. I really don't know where this trend came from why would anyone just want to shortened their shifter physically if it does not do anything to the length of their throws??

I wouldn't ever do that either, but it does technically shorten the throw of the shift... it just doesn't change the pivot point.
