Who makes 17 X 10 wheels to fit the FC?
Looking for something that isn't stupid heavy or incredibly expensive. Need 10" rim width to run 315/35 rear tires. I would prefer 16s but there is almost no street rubber available for them wider than a 255/40.

Unless you have a wide body kit I don't think you will be able to fit a 17x10" wheel on an FC. My race car has 15x10" wheels running 10" wide tires on them. They stick out from the fender by nearly 2" (runnig as much backspacing as allowed by the springs).
For them to be 17" in diameter you would have to raise the car up for the fenders to clear the tires and wheels.

On a side note:
I can attest to the fact that you CAN go too wide with wheels and tires. Originally I had 15x8" wheels on my car. With a low compression engine and a weight around 2550lbs I was able to turn a 1:13 sec. lap at TGPRI.
One season later the car was around 100lbs lighter. Had a fresh motor with a considerable port job and a full roll cage. And I had also widened the wheels from 8" to 10" and went to a full racing slick. The best time I could run with this setup was 1:14 sec. lap at TGPRI.
One of the major differences I could tell was the speed I was reaching on the back stretch. With the original setup I was able to break 95mph (on my speedo) before having to brake for the sweeper. With the 10" tires I would be lucky to break 90mph at the same point.
There was not a significant weight difference between the 8" and 10" version of my wheels. They are a true 3 piece wheel that weighed around 12.5 lbs when 8" wide and around 14.5lbs when 10" wide. And the tires were the same side.
After discussing with some track vetrans the performance drop with the wheel size change I came to the following conclusion. The increased drag from the wider tires on the ground and aero drag from the wheels sticking out from the fenders held the car back more than the wider tires gained in the turn with their increased grip.
Looking back I wish I had not spent the $800 on the wider wheel shells and tires and put it towards some better shocks.

315 35 Sumitomo's have 11.5" tread and yes I am looking at a widebody kit. I am aware of the performance drag of increased rotational mass and would not be going quite this big except for the wide body. Like I said before, almost no choices for 16" any wider than 255 40 except off road tires. These would not fill the wells w/o spacers. Power to the ground will depend on how much the widebody, wheels and new paint set me back.

The setup that I currently want for my FC is 215/50 R16 and 225/45 R17 out back. I need wheels to fit that though...
I'm looking to make sure that I keep very close to the stock gearing (including that wheels), or with this setup just go a little higher on it (numerically lower). After I'm done with the tranny stuff (gears...I want a .852 5th gear and the 4.3 rear) I want the car to be limited by gearing up to 142 mph (using a 7000 rpm redline/shiftpoint). I just need to find some wheels that will fit on those particular tires (any ideas?). I've got everything worked out which is why I have very specific numbers. I don't remember off the top of my head what the frontal area of the FC is (I believe it's about 20 square feet...very close anyway, either way I used 20 and 21 for frontal area and .29 and .31 for Cd to estimate the power needed to reach the indicated top speed). There is a little more to it (like what rpm you fall to when you do shift, and the power you have at the particular rpm to name a few) of course, but that's the setup that I want for my car. If ANYONE has any idea of what wheels will fit (or has found any) please let me know. I've already found the tires (Kuhmo Ecsta 712 Supras...unfortunately I can't find Pirellis in 215/50 R16 sizes ...but oh well Kuhmos are great too, I really did want some Neros though). Thanks ahead of time...

Okay the frontal area of the FC (S4) is 22.997916" so the power needed is now 131-142 (all that includes the 3/4" drop and the Cd .29...as well as stock ride height and Cd .31). Any help would be great...

If you get 17 x 10's on the rear w/ 275's and 285's with rolled fender, camber plates, etc. 315's? not unless you have a widebody kit....
My plan here is to get these 17 x 10's at www.ccwheel.com
Check these wheels out.... there light as hell and really cheap considering there construction....There an inexpensive answer to BBS LM's, Kinesis, etc....
