Who knows T2s on here?

If you have owned a T2 for a while and feel you know alot about them or you are a tech. who knows alot about them please PM me. I know I should use the search but there are a million idiots out there posting things they think might work and I'm fixing this car for a customer and I need some reliable info. to help me along. I have 4 years experience working on FDs and I am also a tech for Mercedies Benz so I know cars and I know EFI systems I'd just like to get some imput to help me narrow my search since this is the first FC I've worked on. So if you PM me I'll let you know what the car is doing and what has already been replaced or checked.

thanks
Ray

IF you can work on an FD you can work on a t2...when simplified there is almost no difference in the control system, other than speed density vs air metering.

I find my FC 100x easier to work on than my FD..

after being in the FD's engine bay for a while.. and i go back to my E-fan FC..

i feel like i can practically jump into the engine bay and work in it...

it's a breeze...

I guess the biggest thing is I don't know where everything is and how it should be hooked up there are random things unpluged and vac. lines with screws stuck in them and I need this car in good stock working order and it must pass emissions. I could take everything off my FD and hook it up blind at this point but the FC is laid out very different. I've been reading alot at http://fc3spro.com/ and it has been extreeeeemly helpfull. I didn't mean any disrespect in this post but anyone who has been on this forum knows there is alot of wrong information on here, hack I've even posted stupid things when I first got on here and didn't know what the hell I was doing!!! so i was just trying to avoid that and get right to some people who really know what they're talking about.

thanks

You have a point there. when you do a search you really have to dumpster dive to find correct information. People are quick to post 'search' in a selfish attemp to gain a post count.

IE: I was trying to find info on my vert and one person swears by on thing and the other swears by another.

Your best bet is to print the FSM go to Teamfc3s.org and when you enter, it well be on the left hand column.

I'm pretty sure you can still pick up a FSM on CD somewhere on the net. When I got mine it was only like $5.

What year car???

How about starting with one screw plugged line at a time? With a good description of where on the engine.

This sort of comment really pisses me off. When I've posted the same peice of info dozens of times, I'm perfectly entitled to tell people to search for it instead or repeoting myself yet again. Too many people just want to be spoon-fed info without putting in any effort. Even when they bother to search, they type in one or two words, search the whole forum (instead of just the relevant section), and then give up when the answer's not on the first page. I use the search function often and usually find what I'm looking for even if you have to try several different search terms and spend a little time on it.

Rayman, most of the technical stuff you seem to be after can be found in the FSM. Also make sure you read the FAQ sticky.

I agree that searching can be pretty hit-or-miss on here with all of the crap posted, plus all of the peopple asking the same thing and being told to search clogs it up even worse, but a vast majority of the stuff where people say Search! is super easy stuff covered in the stickies, in the FSM, or is so prevalent that 5 minutes of searching will yeild the answer.

start with the vacuum diagram in the FSM, you can download the FSM in the FAQ thread. the vacuum diagram will give you a pretty damn good idea of how just about everything works and should be hooked up.

Most RX have a diagram of the emissions hose routing on a sticker that is attached to the engine hood.
