Who has the quickest N/A here?

I think I have the quickest n/a here.

I want to know what everyone else runs with similar modifications as I have done.

All stock engine

RB header
SS 2.5 exhaust
ports wired open
K&N Cone
Cold Air box
Weight reductions

9.7 @ 73 mph in the 1/8

98 MPH in the Quarter!

Lets see what everyone has!!!!!

what's your time in the 1/4? And why are you being so arrogant about it?

Not to be ignorant or anything, but with just those mods I highly doubt that you have the fastest N/A here, probably not even top 10. Some quick N/As that come to mind : Silkworm, Dre_2000, Mazdaspeed7, ME , many others with more mods than you. I know you have your crazy weight reduction and everything, but still...... There will ALWAYS be someone faster.

I was just curious to see who is the quickest here, without moding the engine or using NOS.

I would consider using a 13b carb in a 1st gen as being modded more than my car.

I don't post the quarter mile time, because too many people didn't think it was truthfull last time I posted it, so I just leave it alone, since its a really out of whack time anyways.

I also wanted to know who has the quickest N/A S4, since the S5 has a 15 HP advantage right from the start.

Just trying to get an idea from a level playing field.

Well they actually only have 14 more HP , but the S5 do weigh over 100lbs more (model for model) than the S4. Ive actually heard that when streetporting, the s4 engine responds better because of the shorter intake. You can post the 1/4 times, we wont BS you , just explain why you think its outta whack. I think Mazdaspeed7 estimated low 14s, altough I dont think he ever took it to the track. Silkworks SCCA car has a S5 engine in a stripped S4 car, that should be pretty quick I'd think. Once I get around to installing all my mods in my sig, I should be in the 14's somewhere I assume.

Im going to the track in a week and a half. Anybody wanna guess what Im going to run?

Mods: cone filter in front of radiator, ported TB, ported intake manifold, 6 port sleeves/actuators removed, nylon inserts to smooth out the transition into the port, RB road race header/true dual exhaust, Main and alternator UD pulleys, Crane Hi-6, no emissions, no air pump, no a/c, no p/s, timing advanced, Racing Beat race pressure plate, stock disc, 84 GSL transmission internals in the 90 case, clutch type LSD, and very stick Dunlop Sport SP 8000 tires, 225 50 zr 15. Oh yeah, got some more weight reduction thrown in there, curb weight about 2600-2625 lbs.

Im using the 84 tranny for the shorter gear ratios. Heres the ratios for the stock 90 n/a tranny, the 84 GSL tranny, and the % shorter.

1st: 3.475 3.674 6%
2nd: 2.002 2.217 11%
3rd: 1.366 1.432 5%
4th: 1.000 1.000 0%
5th: .711 .825 16%

The short ratios are AWESOME.

EDIT: forgot a few...its just too hard to remember everything I have on my car.

Roy, I consider a mid 14 NA in with the big boys buddy

I'll let you guys know what it runs after I'm finished, but I'm expecting something around mid 14s myself.

Stripped S4 chassis (with cage), S5 engine, no smog, no accessories, header, 2.5" all the way back..

On my FP car using its current weight and expected HP output I could run 14 flat. I used a 1/4 mile calculator found by searching for it right here on the forum. Even thou my car isin't street legal it still has enough usable gound clearance to drive it on the street. Its just going to be real loud. And yes my engine is a stock port engine with a good Weber carb on it from a Formula Mazda racecar.

2250 lbs. and 170 HP will go quite fast.

edit - The calculator didn't specify crank or rear wheel HP so I did crank HP because its a bigger number Obvioulsy the time will be slower if its rear wheel HP that I'm suppost to use.

My friend has a 88 GTU with Mikuni 48mm Carbs w/ RB headers, straight pipe, and greddy power extreme catback. With some good tires and taking his 12" sub out of the trunk, I'm sure he can run low to mid 14s. I know he outran my TII when my car was stock. But not anymore he can't.

I may somewhat qualify for a 10th place or so. My 86 was a base, and dead. Rebuilt, contoured 5/6 ports, street ported intermediate housing<end plate ports are the same size as the template>, removed exh diffuser, RB header, prelilerncer, dual catback 2.5",coilovers,S5TII sturts, LSD, 4pot brakes, SS lines, no emissions, no accesories. Oh I also got a ribbed S4 NA tranny.
Cheap O stuff
TB mod, Efan, gonna put on a S5 intakemanifold<sittin in the garage>
I can keep up with my friends 10AE, it only has an intake, but hes a good driver and the car is in perfect shape. Neither can pass each other.
Not bad I think
maybe 160 to the wheels
Im too poor to dyno but Ill get 1/4 times sooner or later.

dude, wtf is a "perpetual port"? do you mean peripheral port? that means that his intake is already ported just a bit differently. hes also got a bonez intake? . . . for his mystical "perpetual" port (which im assuming is a peripheral port)?!?!?!?! arent intakes limited to certain types once you go to a peripheral? i would hope he has some kind of a tb mod done!!!!!!!! hmmmm. . . . .

PP need either a carb setup or a custom intake manifold to allow FI. A cone filter and a PP is an unlikely combo.

No he doesnt. I could believe most of the stuff you said, but the porting... Did you know the word gullible isnt in the dictionary?
