S5 pushes out 160 hp stock. Adding a street , or raceport, will bring it to 200 hp. And that's just the engine core

My friend runs in the "all motor" class. No power adders and he runs 10.5 in the 1/4 mile. However, it is not a street car.

Depends on the porting. The highest street port power I know of is 230rwhp out of a n/a 13B-RE in a first gen. Bridge port, not sure of the highest but they're capable of quite alot. Peripheral ports can make 300+ hp n/a.

A street port will yield around 200-230hp, a bridge port is good for about 260-280hp although it is technically not street legal in most areas, and a track-only peripheral port is good for over 300hp.

Basically, if you want power in a street car, go with a turbo. Rotary engines are loud, and they get louder with porting. A turbine soaks up a lot of noise and allows for more power via boost as opposed to porting and other noisy NA modifications. You can always port the turbo engine if more power is needed.

If you are thinking about building up your NA engine gradually and then adding a turbo, forget it. Most of the bolt-on NA mods will not work well with a turbo. Therefore, either build up a nice NA, or save your money and go turbo all at once. BTW, it is almost always better to just sell your NA car and buy TII car as opposed to spending a lot of time and money converting an NA into a ghetto TII.

My friend got 280hp out of a 12a NA, porting and other mods however the exact mods done are unknown to me as I didn't ask when he told me about it.

Well the power you put out for an n/a rides really heavily on the porting you have. My car is not strictly "legal" but it is street driveable and its comfortable. Here's my thread i just made check em out if you want.

Back in 2005 I put down 172rwhp on an s4 (s4 rotors and manifolds) with streetport, full exhaust, pineapple racing auxiliary port sleeves, T2 rotor housings and an SAFC.
