white smoke but no sign of oil in coolant
white smoke but no sign of oil in coolant
bought a 86 sport, the car has been sitting for 2 years and i fired her up after i put back all the cooling hoses and radiator back in.. well at first it was a lot of white smoke nd i figured it was build up from sitting.. but every time i start the car it always smokes white for maybe 5 seconds.. im not sure if it has cooling seal failure but i am suspecting it.. after revving about 5 or 6k rpms it smokes.. ive done the search but i see no stream of bubbles when the radiator cap is removed and i have seen no oil mixed in the coolant..
is there somthing i misunderstood from searching? what do you guys think?

What color is the smoke? Blue, white?
If it has a blueish tint to it, chances are it's oil.. Can be caused by a number of things -> Oil control rings/seals.. MOP injecting too much (doubt it).
If it is pure white, and it smells sweet/bitter, it's probably coolant, and could be caused by bad coolant seals. I don't see why oil would mix with the coolant if the combustion coolant seal went, it would just leak into the combustion chamber.

My coolant seals went and i got no bubbles and no coolant in the oil.... it depends greatly on WHERE the seal has failed..
Dropping the s5 block in really isnt that big a deal, but you have to used the ECU and wiring and all that noise from the s5 donor car..
Is the vert trashed ?? (ie, why not just run the vert??)

If you have anit-freeze in the coolant, the exhaust smell will tell.
My NA had a coolant seal leak start to happen.
It ran perfect for a year after the stop leak fix.
Then I sold it..
