White smoke

Well heres whats going on I started my car and is blowing white smoke out the tail pipe. My first guess is that it blew an intake gasket. Then I started thinking maybe it was one of the coolant seals. If I rebulid the engine will i have to put new apex seals in it? Any Ideas on the white smoke?

I believe white smoke indicates a coolant leak into the engine... which is very bad. Black smoke usually indicates either burning oil or a really rich air fuel mix.

Good luck...

If it happens only during start up when it is cold out, then it is normal. I think it's just condensation in the air.

Its only normal when the smoke is a few puff's anything more than that and its probably a blown coolant seal.

if it is TONS of smoke then it is possible coolant leak. my car is doing that now.......... need to save for rebuild. also maybe another way know if it is coolant leak is if it feels like it runs on 1 rotor then the other one fires up later.

my car is currently doing that and hope to get rebuild soon.

If it's coolant you should be able to smell it in the exhaust. It smells....sickly sweet. If there is a lot of smoke it shouldn't be hard to smell at all.
