White around exhaust port? & Engine removal questions
I've begun the teardown on my car to swap the motor.
I'd say I'm about 80% complete with the engine removal, but I need a little help.
How do I get the A/C compressor off? If it is just the 4 bolts, 2 top, 2 bottom, how do I get the bottom ones off with the harness and other lines in the way?
2nd, When removing parts, I was interested to see how my seals would look through the exhaust so I removed the header. When I did, the rear exhaust port was dark black(probably normal) but the front was white. It was a good 1/4 inch thick with whatever the white crap was. Would this be coolant seal failure? I shoved my finger up in there and its almost like I'm rubbing 40 grit sandpaper.

Looks like a 12A turbo?
The deposits are normal. I don't quite recall what they are exactly but I've seen white/tan deposits on every properly running RX-7 I've seen.

Thats EXACTLY how my front port is. Thank you for posting a pic. Anyone know what that's from?
EDIT: So the white is normal and my rear port that was brown/black would be the bad one? I can't rotate the engine, its seized.
