Whine from rear end! Advice?
Whine from rear end! Advice?
Allright, the problem:
I accelerate from first, and one in fifty times, I get a "weeerrp" kinda whine (kind of a metal-on-metal sound) from the rear end that lasts about 1 second then goes away. I never get it in any other gear.
I have just replaced the differential with a vLSD and a new set of 4.10 gears. New bearings, seals, synthetic fluid, everything. I cleaned it out for hours while I had it apart and kept all the parts in plastic bags to keep them clean. I took it to a shop to have it put together (set the backlash and pinion hight).
Advice? Should I look elsewhere for the problem? Maybe its the tranny? Go yell at the shop? Punch myself for messing something up?
What do you think?

dont know New stuff needs to be used and worn some I guess it's like our engines then dont perform good when there rebuilt/new untell there broke in then they run great I know some tranys I rebuilt need broke in that made a metel to metel sound becuse of the new gears in it but after about 200+ miles on it it stoped. it's just an idea like I said I'm no expert just going with what I have done in the past.
